Business has been slow recently and I hadn’t been out on a shoot for a while. Although, I try to pick up my camera at least once a day at home, it does get a bit repetitive sometimes shooting in the same surroundings and conditions. So, this weekend, I took my little family out for a walk to the local park and practised shooting with them. I know it sounds super dorky, but it was the most fun I’d had all week! I truly feel like, with each press of the shutter, I learn a little more and get a little better. So, it felt so exhilarating to get clicking again, not to mention getting to do it outdoors too.
On a side note, tonight I’m grateful for the blessing of family. No family is perfect and ours is far from it. Contrary to what you see in these photos, we can get pretty nasty towards each other and the lows can get pretty low. But they teach me about grace and forgiveness and how much I need to grow. We’ve been going through some things lately that have made it tough to feel grateful, but I was reminded today that gratitude invites joy…and I truly don’t deserve this joy.
God is good. God is generous.
Here are some of the frames I shot on the day. Hope you guys enjoy looking through them as much as I enjoyed taking them :)
